ROLE PURPOSE
As Maintenance Superintendent you drive forward the maintenance activity required to minimize risk. You recognize the inherent commercial tension with production and strive to make a positive commercial impact. You ensure that the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and Operations (Ops) Manager have all the information required to make safe and commercially sound decisions.
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
1 In order that the installation is well maintained, YOU ARE TO :
1.1 Make sure that maintenance of Safety Critical Equipment is executed and deviations (if any) are reported and risk assessed
1.2 Make sure the planning of maintenance activities and the scope of work of each activity are well described and continuously reviewed and updated.
1.3 Ensure that activities are properly prepared and expedited relentlessly in order to get the job done
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
- The amount of unexpected maintenance required
- The completion of tasks according to plan
2 In order that risks are actively managed in a controlled manner , YOU ARE TO :
2.1 Ensure that maintenance activities are carried out according to the Management System
2.2 Ensure that our "clear and checkable records" are accurate, complete and up-to-date
2.3 Actively participate in task risk assessments and daily inspect worksites under your responsibility
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
- The amount of rework
- The Data quality (accuracy, completeness) of the maintenance management system
3 In order to have a positive impact on the SBM company commercial results, YOU ARE TO :
3.1 Ensure that the commercial impacts of maintenance activities are understood
3.2 Provide input for Maintenance and spare budget preparation and control.
3.3 Challenge others to seek innovative solutions.
3.4 Ensure that stock levels are justified and that this assessment is regularly reviewed.
3.5 Ensure that the impact on the lifetime value of the asset is considered.
3.6 Manage vendors assertively to get maximum value.
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
- The value of stock holdings
- The delays due to lack of stock
- The vendor costs
4 In order to achieve an alert and well-motivated maintenance culture, YOU ARE TO :
4.1 Encourage others to step outside their comfort zone and continue to apply the same well-motivated maintenance culture
4.2 Does not avoid addressing performance issues of others
4.3 Make sure that a persistent and aligned approach is adapted and maintained throughout by all Maintenance Superintendents
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
- The level of personal engagement of maintenance staff.
- The assessment of the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)
5 In order that trusted external relationships reduces avoidable work, YOU ARE TO :
5.1 Adopt honest and open conversations with specialists
5.2 Build trusted relationships with Flag and Class representatives to ensure smooth handling and processing of any item submitted to them for approval
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
- The Success in Continuous Machinery Survey
6 In order that we make well-informed Management decisions that are based on accurate, timely and consistent information, YOU ARE TO :
6.1 Work with the Regional Maintenance Manager to ensure efficiency at regional level
6.2 Brief and feedback to the Maintenance Coordinator to ensure high levels of support
6.3 Escalate issues to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) / Operations (OPS) Manager as required with clear well-informed recommendations
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
Assessment of the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and Operations Manager.
7 In order to develop our collective capabilities, YOU ARE TO :
7.1 Ensure that the staff is given the opportunity needed to gain experience and the guidance to proactively develop their career.
7.2 Ensure that all staff contributes to and learns from our collective experience using the lessons learned process.
