What will you be doing as a Safety Manager?
The core focus of the Safety Manager is to coordinate the safety activities for the plants. All of which, is done in adherence to the Bunge policies. As the Safety Manager you maintain a helicopter view and zoom in on the details. By installing and improving the processes, you improve the safety culture within all layers of the organization. Followed by coaching local leaders and conducting regular safety inspections on the site. Simultaneously, you manage a team of 8 people, that consists of Safety Specialists and a group of Firefighters. With your knowledge and expertise, you are able to follow op on the GRC inspections and assure proper fire fighting and Atex compliance.
As a Safety Manager, you are also responsible for local audits and actively participate in the safety planning. Followed by a safe execution of the safety standards at Bunge. This role also grants enough room to use your creativity to implement safety innovations, which can strengthen the safety culture. Furthermore, you attend local meetings and make a proper evaluation on the safety activities. Even more, make a list of the necessary trainings at the plants, which in turn, you will provide to the local colleagues. In addition, you take care of the legal obligations and maintain the relationships with local authorities.
The plants consist of 250 colleagues at a time, sometimes even more. Therefore, safety is an essential part of our daily work. Bunge takes safety very seriously. Taking that into account, we are looking for a safety advocate with a passion for safety. The position is located in Lehiu. However, we are also open for someone out of Bucharest.

What do we expect from our Safety Manager?
You are a positive and structured person with great communications skills. Even more, you find a solution to every problem. Building sustainable business relationships is second nature to you. Furthermore, your proactive and a natural team player. What else do we expect?
- BSc/MSc in a technical field;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position;
- Safety certification: Risk Assessor and Safety Inspector;
- Excellent in English;
- Either located in Bucharest or Lehliu (is a must).
