APM Terminals Poti (Poti Sea Port Corporation) is a business unit within APM Terminals with global headquarter in The Hague, Netherlands - an independent company in the A.P. Møller - Mærsk Transport & Logistics division. We are Georgia's biggest multi-purpose port, handling amongst others dry and liquid bulk, ferries as well as containers, and also has the responsibility for all related marine services. We serve the Georgian market as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia and the wider Central Asian market. We are undertaking a significant capital expansion project in our port. The goal of the project is to both grow the existing container terminal business for APM Terminals Poti as well as to create space for a potential concessionaire to build and operate a bulk/general cargo facility.

Currently we are looking for an experienced People Partner to join our dynamic team to support on the exciting comprehensive people agenda and contribute to both short- and long-term success of the company.

Key responsibilities

Working in the People Partnering organization, People Partner is an expert in HR operations and is a key player in driving the professionalism and performance of HR in the port by working closely with the management teams to develop and implementing people solutions and agenda aligned to the business strategy.

The key functions are but not limited to:
  • Build strong relationships and trust with leaders, offer HR expertise and coaching on people issues, assist leaders to gain a better understanding of organizational needs; Advise and influence managers from a people perspective;
  • Work closely with leaders to constantly critically analyze, anticipate and outline present and future organizational capability needs and partner to excel the organization and acquire or develop needed skillset;
  • Support the organization with recruitment, organizational design, performance management, talent management and compensation & benefits expertise and facilitate relevant people agenda;
  • Facilitate internal communication and act as a key contact for managers on HR matters and employee engagement;
  • Drive and support the salary review process in cooperation with the HR team and global functions;
  • Perform HR analytics to support smarter decision making and deployment of people data;
  • Participate in supporting managers in handling difficult situations, advising them on labor legislation and internal regulations and advocating objective resolutions;
  • Contribute to the formulation of people policies within the broader HR team;
  • Participate in people development process and training activities;
  • Drive specific HR improvement initiatives as assigned from start to end;

We are looking for

  • Higher education in Business Administration, Management or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years human resource partnering experience with solid understanding of and practical experience in HR processes;
  • Understanding of Logistics, Port Transport and Shipping industries is desirable;

  • High drive, proactiveness, result oriented and decisive with a passion for winning;
  • Able to engage challenging situations and question the status quo - nimble learner with a curious mindset;
  • Ability to effectively engage with and cooperate at all levels of the organization;
  • Empathy, personal tact, cultural understanding, and strong communication skills;
  • Analytical skills - ability to work with / interpret the data into a workable solution;

  • Georgian and English languages – fluent, Russian – desirably at conversational level;
  • Computer skills – ability to deploy digital solutions in HR processes; MS Office – advanced user, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint;

  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information;
  • Willingness to align with company interests and values and advocate them in daily conduct;
  • High sense of responsibility, punctuality and well-organization;
  • High degree of discipline and safety-mindedness, integrity and uprightness;
  • Development-oriented and “can do” attitude;
  • Ability to work in dynamic work environment;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
